Future & The City

Some images taken from "Future & the City", a project currently underway, in which I try to represent aspects of the city of tomorrow through a series of photographs taken in some of the urban centers in more rapid transformation in the world (Dubai, Shanghai, Singapore, Tokyo, Mexico City, New York, Miami, Vancouver, …)
This is an artistic exploration not pretending to suggest urban solutions: I am only seeking the seeds and signs of what will - perhaps - dominate the big cities of tomorrow, and try to represent some aspects of them. The particular photographic technique used in this project, hiding the details of the buildings and emphasizing the general and archetypal characteristics of places, provides an abstract representation of what will be the city of tomorrow.

Alcune immagini tratte da “Future & the City”, un progetto attualmente in corso, nel quale cerco di rappresentare aspetti della città del futuro, attraverso una serie di fotografie scattate in alcuni dei centri urbani in più rapida trasformazione nel mondo (Dubai, Shanghai, Singapore, Tokyo, Mexico City, New York, Miami, Vancouver, …).
Una esplorazione artistica che non pretende di suggerire soluzioni urbanistiche, limitandosi a ricercare i semi e i segni di ciò che – forse – dominerà le città del futuro, e a rappresentarne alcuni aspetti. La particolare tecnica fotografica utilizzata, nascondendo i dettagli degli edifici ed evocando le caratteristiche generali e archetipiche dei luoghi, fornisce una rappresentazione astratta ci ciò che sarà la città di domani.
